The Fondeporte 2027 contest in Atacama officially opened its call for proposals on Monday, inviting local entities to submit projects in the categories of Formación para el Deporte, Deporte Recreativo and Deporte de Competición. Applications will be accepted from October 19 through November 6, 2026, offering significant funding for regional sport initiatives.
Fondeporte is a national program administered by the Ministry of Sports that seeks to strengthen the country’s sporting infrastructure and talent pipeline. This 2027 edition allocates a dedicated budget for the Atacama region, aiming to boost community health, youth development and the competitive performance of local athletes. The contest represents a key instrument for aligning regional sport policies with the national agenda, providing resources that were previously scarce in the northern desert zone.

Interested organizations must submit their proposals through the official Fondeporte online platform. Required documentation includes a detailed project outline, budget, timeline, and proof of legal entity status. Projects are evaluated on impact, feasibility, and alignment with the three focal areas: sport education, community recreation, and elite competition. Successful applicants will receive non‑refundable grants that cover up to 100 % of project costs, depending on the scope and expected outcomes.
